KEY PROGRAMMING
  • Electronic, coded transponder chips embedded in the plastic body of the key were introduced from 1995. The chip is passive, so it doesn't need a battery – the code is read when you turn the key in the ignition.
  • If the transponder chip is broken or missing, the engine won't start.
You will need to return to the dealer if you wish to replace your key. The dealer will have to reprogramme the immobiliser's control unit to recognise the new key code.

But this is no longer the case as we at V12 Electronics can programme keys and remote control units and ECU’s on certain vehicles, call for specific details. This service is aimed at Used Car Dealers and Body-shops who have lost keys or remotes for vehicles or where new locks have been fitted and there is a need to re-code new keys to the vehicle.

Our shop has always programmed keys and ECU's for cars and we have the skills and equipment to programme the newer transponder keys.

We work with almost all makes and models of vehicle.  So if you have lost or broken your keys and are even locked out please call us.

We can reprogram keys for the following manufacturers-

Ford, Nissan, Volvo, Chrysler Jeep, Toyota, Jaguar, Renault, Suzuki, Hyundai, Honda, Proton, General Motors (Vauxhall, Opel), Rover, Saab, Citroen, Peugeot, Aston Martin, Mitsubushi, Daewoo, Kia, Fiat, Alfa, Lancia, Mazda, Subaru .
